Set Review ? LEGO® 75459 - Imperial Lambda-class shuttle
Let’s build an Imperial Lambda-class Shuttle! A set that recreates scenes from season 2 of *Star Wars: The Mandalorian*. It includes 5 minifigures, 961 pieces and costs €149.99.
A few bags and the instruction manual. It’s greatly appreciated that there are no stickers :)
Here comes the main character of the series. I’m not sure whether this is a new variant or a previously released minifigure.
The ship is built from the base upwards. Here you can see how the central wing will be constructed. Simple, but as we’ll see, crucial for a perfect execution. Seats are detailed and some height is added for the next phase.
Of course there had to be a Stormtrooper!
Here the section where the cockpit will go is prepared, as well as the roof of the cargo compartment. Another Technic bar is added here to reinforce what comes next.
As I was saying: that Technic bar is everything for the technique used here. It’s brilliant because it gives the entire wing great rigidity.
Here’s the Imperial Shuttle pilot. The suit looks fantastic with the classic symbol we fans love so much.
Well, well, well—this is pure delight: how the cockpit is built and how it opens! It’s brilliant! Without a doubt, inserting a minifigure is extremely easy.
Now we begin building the structure that gives the wings mobility, allowing the shuttle to achieve that characteristic triangular shape in flight. The anchoring method is very interesting.
What do you think of how Dr Pershing’s character turned out?
In the next image we can see the inclination of the future wings. It works wonderfully.
Now it’s time to hide those Technic arms so the wings can be attached. An entertaining and educational exercise, without a doubt.
Ahhhh Moff Gideon with the Darksabre! A great figure with a great cape.
The wings are straightforward, sturdy and do their job well.
The rear of the ship is quite well achieved, isn’t it?
A ship with almost 1,000 pieces that really delivers, as it’s very well designed for a playable scale. The cockpit opening mechanism is superb. If only all sets worked this well in that regard. It includes 5 minifigures that represent the scene very well, and for collectors they’re always an excellent addition.
