Set Review ? LEGO® 75461 - Up-scaled Darth Vader minifigure
What an incredible set from the Star Wars line we have here. None other than the Dark Lord himself, Darth Vader, in a giant buildable figure! A set with 1,028 pieces, priced at €99.99, and offering 100% building enjoyment.
The only slight disappointment was discovering a sticker sheet for a few parts that really would have been better printed. But that's just the way it is...
The leg features a very natural connection that slots perfectly into the hip assembly. It's fantastic how they've recreated the same parts as a minifigure, only at this much larger scale.
Here you can see the beginning of the internal structure that will become Vader's torso. The hip connection technique is particularly interesting, as is the way they've managed to recreate the distinctive angles of a minifigure torso.
The next stages focus on enclosing the previous structure with slopes. The clever use of brackets combined with the shaping achieved through the slopes is outstanding. I especially loved the finishing touch where the figure's neck is finally connected.
Next up are the arms. This is brilliant! Just a handful of bricks produce an incredible result.
And what about the lightsaber grip? The technique used on the lower section of the lightsaber is absolutely superb.
Once the arms and cape are in place, it's time for the main event—yes, the Force is strong with this one!
Now the acrobatics begin, with studs facing every possible direction and some truly mind-bending building techniques. Absolutely impressive.
The circular building technique used for the helmet is simply exquisite.

As this was the first giant buildable figure I've put together, I really didn't know what to expect. It turned out to be an excellent experience from start to finish. It strikes a great balance between straightforward and challenging building, with plenty of surprising steps and wonderfully refined techniques, especially throughout the head. A highly attractive set that's great fun to build—and, of course, perfect for play as well!
